Translation with extra proofreading
Depending on the type of texts you want translated, it may be necessary to have an additional round of proofreading by someone other than the translator themselves. The extra proofreading may be relevant, for example, if you have a specialized technical text where it is crucial that the terminology is completely accurate. This could be the case for the translation of legal documents, technical documents for construction plans, medical texts, or financial texts.
When is it necessary to have an additional proofreader?
Several factors determine whether it is necessary to order additional proofreading. At Diction, we provide our expertise at no extra cost if you are unsure whether additional proofreading is necessary. You can submit a request for a free assessment from our project manager. We have listed some examples of documents that usually require additional proofreading, such as legal texts, patents, tenders, legal reports, technical specifications, medical records, medical scientific articles, specialized texts, texts for printing, or other patient information.
Texts that usually do not require an additional proofreader
At Diction, we aim to deliver good work at the best possible price. We have structured our prices in a way that makes the most sense. Some translations are easier to perform than others, and in the case of simple translations, it may be sufficient to have a native speaker translator to translate your text. Texts that may be sufficiently translated without additional proofreading include email correspondence, subtitles, manuscripts, social media texts, simple product descriptions for websites, or simple newsletters.
How to calculate the price of the translation
To get a price for your translation, please upload the document via our website. You can do this through our contact form or by sending us an email to [email protected]. At Diction, we strive for transparent pricing, and we usually calculate the price based on the number of words in your text. If the document is a scan, image, or in a non-editable format, we can also estimate a price per page.
Delivery time
For translations that have both a native translator and a proofreader, the delivery time will be at least two to three business days. This is the standard delivery time for 2-3 pages, and if there are more pages, the translation may naturally take longer. If the translation is urgent, you can inform the project manager, and we will try to start the translation immediately. For rush orders, a rush fee is usually charged, which can vary depending on the deadline and whether the translation needs to be performed outside of normal business hours.
Confidentiality
For many of our clients, confidentiality is crucial, as we often handle personal information. At Diction, we are bound by a duty of confidentiality and routinely work with highly sensitive documents for both businesses and individuals. This can include patient records, criminal records, or documents containing trade secrets. If you request a translation quote from Diction and end up not placing an order, the document will be deleted from our server immediately after the feedback.
Translation to and from all languages
Diction can translate to and from most languages in the world and operates in hundreds of language combinations. We primarily translate to European languages, but we also have extensive experience translating to Asian and South African languages. Over the past ten years, we have built a strong network of specialists and partners in translation, which means that we typically collaborate with translators around the world with the exact language combination you need.
