The procedure for legalizing translated documents will be adjusted as of July 3, 2017. From this date, all translations will need to be endorsed by a notary or the Danish Chamber of Commerce before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can apostille the translation.

The procedure for legalizing translated documents will be adjusted as of July 3, 2017. From this date, all translations will need to be endorsed by a notary or the Danish Chamber of Commerce before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can apostille the translation.

The adjustment is made pursuant to the repeal of the Act on Authorized Translators and Interpreters as of January 1, 2016, which abolished the authorization scheme for interpreters and translators in order to ease market access and remove unnecessary barriers.
